Having taken up building models and making dioramas again after many years away from the hobby and needing to source desired materials to help.
Often I couldn't find what I wanted, or at least in a way I wanted it - so I had to make it myself.
I then thought - if I needed it maybe others had the same need - so decided to make up a website and give it a go.
As we find a requirement we try to fulfill it in a way that is easy, innovative, and - most importantly - at a reasonable price, and make it available. If you need something, let us know maybe we can find a solution for you. This is why my ranges are eclectic and unusual, no point re-inventing the wheel but where else can you get glitter varnish for fairy models, window tints for models and a Martian war machine?
Our range of scenic & other innovative products are so diverse and too many to list on the website so we often appear at Model, Game and toy shows where our products can be seen and advice given, a list of these shows is available on the events page.
A few years ago frustrated by not getting anyone to make the models I'd designed I acquired a 3D printer and after learning how to use it and design for it I can now produce some exclusive models. I take commissions for builds and slowly the range is building. - If you require a model built, get in touch, maybe I can build it but remember - I'm learning all the time and there is such a thing as copyright. 3D models
There are video tutorials on the website as well as hints and tips to help show how some products are used.
I'd used Humbrol, Valejjo, Citadel and Tamiya and others. I had decided to stock Tamiya then I found MMP Paints - probably the best paints designed for modelers.
When looking for a range of paints to sell we researched and researched and came to the conclusion that the best paints by far were those of Mission Models in the USA. So we contacted them and are now proud to say we are a stockist in the UK, and at the time of writing this only one of 2 uk suppliers to stock the RC range.
This range of paints is so unlike those available up until now - so easy and so good. It is worth spending a little time reading the tips and tricks to get the full benefit from this fabulous range. Ian, A customer that I talked to at the Avon IPMS model show told me that since he started using MMP he's thrown his other paints out - they're that good.
Here are some of our innovative and sometimes exclusive products:
Fed up of getting plastic glue on canopies and clear plastic?
I developed an adhesive that does not haze or discolour these vital parts. Canopy Glue
We make a filler that is easy to smooth, dries quickly and can be applied accurately and can be worked to such a fine smoothness it doesn't need sanding, dries quickly and can be painted as soon as it does. Precision Filler
3d printed modeling has drawbacks such as the layers are too obvious. With this in mind I developed a brush-on filler that if used correctly can self level and obliterate those lines. As with the precision filler its acrylic but mixed with polyurethane to give a filler that flows and dries to a durable easily sanded finish.
Washes in fine tip dropper bottles that they can be applied straight on the model. Pin Wash
Masking for painting? - We have a method that allows you to mark the mask and cut away from the model with a scissors before applying, no more scratching the beloved model with slips of the knife! Aluminium Masking
Tints for clear plastic, can also be used as a high gloss varnish wash for armour etc.
Fingers too big for those nasty little PE parts. - Use our PE picker pencil to handle and position in place.
The web-store is constantly under construction as new products arrive.
Packaging design and colours may vary from illustrations.
